I just got back from Chicago today, and while I was there I had the privilege to see Stratovaius and Into Eternity.

Both of these bands put on quite a performance. Into Eternity's stage presence is very enjoyable and they are almost flawless musically. The singer is one of the best I have ever heard; he can hit some unbelievable notes.

Stratovarius played a two hour set with two encores included. I thought I would be disappointed b/c of their latest album, but even "Maniac Dance" was enjoyable to hear.

They went through almost all of their hits;

"Hunting High and Low"
"Father Time"
"Speed of Light"
"Destiny"
"Forever Free"
"Coming Home"
"Black Diamond"
"Against the Wind"
"Twilight Symphony"
"The Kiss of Judas"
"Will the Sun Rise?"

They only played four songs from “Stratovarius.”

Also, their new bassist is frickin good. And, Kotipelto was on key the entire set.

Great that you enjoyed it !!! :)

I agree that it was a great show. Well I saw them here too last week, they played pretty much the same songs - a kind of greatest hits, which is perfect !!! - and basically, it was all cool !!!!!
Next time they come back, I'll return, for sure !!

The voice of that guy will always impress me...

I was not so impressed by "Maniac Dance" though...maybe because it was the first time I was hearing it, I don't know...but I didn't like it VERY much...

I didn't like "Maniac Dance" on the new record, but it was ok live. I would've been happier if they played something else though.
