PostPosted: Thu Aug 18, 2005 2:07 am
SPV is proud to announce the signing of BEYOND FEAR, the brand new hard-hitting metal outfit founded by current Iced Earth and former Judas Priest vocalist Tim "Ripper" Owens. The band is preparing to enter the studio to record their debut album for a 2006 release.

How lame! They haven't even recorded anything yet? Jesus! How about a fucking song clip, Owens?? You go to Tim Owens' website and an Iced Earth clip is playing! Are there no Beyond Fear demos?

Disturbed - Believe and The Sickness , now that was a painfull experience, found them on a p2p they lasted about 5 minutes on my hard disk , straight to the recycle bin never to return.

I didn't care for the material. It's too 'nu-metal' sounding for me. A little like Disturbed actually, who I hate. The music, not so much the vocals, but the arrangements - song structures, constant down-tuning. It's kinda one dimensional, to me anyway... but Ripper sounded decent singing the stuff.

I always knew Ripper was a little bit off the metal map...he's way too mainstream.

Holy crap. Everything this guy has ever done has been terrible, the last thing we need is him in ANOTHER fucking band.

Winter' Bane's "Heart of a Killer" was excellent, but the Priest stuff was average at best and the Iced Earth stuff sounds rehashed, although his singing on it is better than his Priest stuff, but not as good as Winter's Bane. This new band didn't do alot for me, in the live setting at least...
