I went internetting to see what the guys from Canvas Solaris were up to these days (the 2ish years since Irradiance is a long break for them!). I discovered that CS was dead, but that they'd started a new band with a singer. Not totally surprising, since a track like Adaptive Optics screams CATCHY HIT SINGLE about as hard as a tech metal tune can. I quite like the album, so I thought I'd share it. Singer has a doomy "down" quality to her voice, reminds me of the girl from The River. It suits the music well, I always felt that Canvas Solaris's emotions were more beautiful and laid back than the aggression and energy usually associated with metal.
