These guys have two brilliant albums, and I've been waiting for the follow up for YEARS.

Finally, it's out - with Carsen Frank (ex. Galloglass) now singing. (I was a big fan of Jioti's voc's, but liked G-glass a lot too, so I had an open mind about it.)

A couple spins through and I'm pretty disappointed. Definitely a few really good tunes, but that magical "medieval" feel rarely pokes its head through. They're a lot more generic power metal now. Definitely heavier - and using a bunch of harsher vocals, which, imo do not fit. And this wastes Carsten Frank's voice - which is at its best on songs like "Contrast" and "Falling Leaves." (more soaring and emotional than just heavy.)

Curious to get other people's thoughts on this one...

Yeah, me too. Defender Of The Crown was very good and I've been waiting for their next album for what seems like ages now.

I'm a little disappointed that the old singer has left cos i really liked his voice. Must track this one down

I used to own one of their albums a long time ago, but then I traded it. I kind of regret doing that, b/c I've noticed that I've gone back to some stuff I used to hate and now I really like. By the way this band are one of the bands I hated at the time. :sad:

Just heard a few samples from their myspace site....still too early to really judge, but i'm not really liking what i'm hearing...dont really like the new guy's voice

I believe the new guy is an ex-Galloglass vocalist.

Should have the new CD very soon...

Its not bad....but I was a bit dissappointed by this release I expected better from them.

I won't judge the album based on the single, but this didn't impress me at all. Sounds like a completely different band.

Without Jioti they've lost the magic. Is really sad, I liked this band. :lame:

I've read 2 reviews, 0/100 on Metal Archives and 1/5 on Metal Crypt. I know both those sites should be taken with a grain of salt. but damn this doesn't sound promising. When considering the unexplainable nose dives some power metal bands have made these last years, it wouldn't surprise me if there's a new Elvenking-sized disaster in the making here :sad:

Come on now, the new Elvenking isn't that bad.
