One of my favorite scenes of the animated film Heavy Metal was the battle scene where the mutants charge the village and that song is playing in the background. HEAVY FUCKIN' METAL!!

Would that movie be worth getting?

well, I didn't like it... but then, I don't enjoy anime that much but it looked to me like a draft of what a good anime is...

Except that it's not anime. It was made in the west by several different teams of animators with different styles. It's a good watch one time at least. The soundtrack is amazing as well.

Para-fucking-noid!

Black Sabbath is indeed an extremely important album and Heaven and Hell my be graced by Dio, but nothing quite gets up to the masterwork quality of Paranoid. For me, at least.

I want to make myself perfectly clear. Sabbath with Dio is much much better than Sabbath with Ozzy, but Sabotage is the best Sabbath album ever....and Ozzy sings on it, but he actually does a really good job. Great fucking album, still classic rock, before they made the move to more mystical metal stuff with Dio.

I were just listening to Sweet Leaf from Master of Reality. The intro to the solo there. It's easy to hear where some of the early Maiden got their influences, hehe

Though I have sucked down many a joint to Ozzy era Sabbath, Mob Rules is their best work without a doubt. The vocals of Ronnie James Dio are insane especially on the title track. Wow! I thought that I was the only one who thought Mob Rules was Black Sabbath's best. The thing about Mob Rules is that there aren't any filler tracks. I can listen to that album from start to finish. Heaven and Hell has a few fillers, but it's still a classic without a doubt. Anyways, I've always prefered Dio-era Sabbath. I love the mystic, magical vibe that he brought to the band.

Heaven and Hell is just a masterpiece. I tried getting into the Mob Rules, but it was just lacking to me. I've never been a bit fan of Sabbath, so I've alwaysgone strictly for the Dio stuff. I bought the black box and wound up listening to it very seldomly until I simply didn't care whether or not ive heard all these albums. When I attempted to listen to it, I just cared less and less for Ozzy and company.

Heaven and Hell hands down. From the Ozzy era I would pick Master of Reality.

Sabbath Bloody Sabbath for me !

Sabbath Bloody Sabbath :dio:
National Acrobat :dio:
Sabbra Cadabra :dio: :dio:
Spiral Architect :dio:
The rest is good too but those are my highlights! :dio: :dio: :dio:

The DIO era doesn't even reach the fingernails of Ozzy's classics (and I do like Dio but he was far better in Rainbow)! :P
