So you've established that Manowar when they first came out....looked gayer. Taking the high road I see. Very good, bands should not be judged by their music....but by their looks.

I hope that's not what you're implying, because if we are going to go by the music then Stratovarius is much much gayer. And I didnt say that acoustic passages make music gay.....just when Stratovarius does it.

Sensitive about loin clothes huh? Ha ha, don't worry you can still wear yours in the privacy of your own home.

It was cool when Conan wore one, not cool when 4 dudes from NY do it.

That's a sarcastic statement I can agree with. Wow, I've agreed with Holy Terror twice in one thread.

I even agree with you about Strato's gay acoustic parts. Yes, their music is gay at times, but when they're on, they're on.

Like I've said before, I do like some Strato stuff. I really liked Visions and Dimensions...or whatever it's called. When they stick to the straight speed metal they're good, but the overly symphonic and "pretty" stuff is not my cup of tea. I definately think Labyrinith play this style much much better.

Labyrinth's "Timeless Crime" is one of the best albums I've heard in a long time. I've been into the band for a couple years now, but I just recently heard that album (or maybe its an EP) and holy shit does it rule.

Arent you the one who called Manowar gay just because of the way they looked? Seems a bit contradictory. Like I said before I think it seems a little more appropriate to label a band a bunch of wusses based on their music.

(what the fuck happend to the eye roll smilly??? the new one is shit) :eyeroll: its called humor, i probably should have put a smily there, as ken and zad can tell you  . Ok, I don't actually think manowar are gay. I'm sure they are shining beacons of hertrosexuality, in fact they're so straight that they can ware the most gay looking clothes, in fact just cloths, strut around a gay bar dancing to the ymca and not a single guy would come on to them because they're so straight. Yet strato on the other hand. GGGAAAYYY!! ACOUSTIC GUITARS ARE FOR POOFS!! THEIR FAGS COZ THEY USE KEYBOARDS!!!...... ugghhh, really now???

I think you should just not label bands gay, there are better words and metaphores for what your trying to describe. I just takes a brain to think of them.

I saw no smiley face, and all I'm saying is if you're going to try to take the high ground, you shouldnt use use a shallow argument like looks as a good pretense for a band being gay. So if you're going to try and use the misinterpretation argument than thats fine you can cry bloody murder all day. But saying that we shouldnt label them is just a way to disguise the fact that this argument is going nowhere. I think i'm right and so do you. So I'll settle for a cessation of hostilities.

mate, i don't think manowar are homosexuals! It was a joke, i was poking fun at you. Sorry if you missunderstood.

I just don't think you should say 'i don't like them coz their gay!'. Where the fuck does that get anyone?? If you don't like stratos music fine, explain why using none derogatory terms. Its makes it much easier for people to understand your point of view when you don't throw insults around.

Its also quite a coincidence that this topic was in todays editorial.

I never said I didnt like Strato, in fact I believe I even cited the Strato stuff that I did like. So you're wrong there. And I believe this argument has gotten both of us nowhere. So agree to disagree....about what? I dont know.

Iron Maiden, and even Judas Priest, are the most mis-labeled bands in metal!! Yes, there is metal, but there is also a ton of rock music! Maybe not 75% like I previously mentioned, but I'd say each band is about 50% heavy rock (not 80's rock!) and 50% heavy metal.

Yeah dude, but 90 percent of Manowar is gayer then Start or Edguy. They are the same bull shit. Lets just take Kings of Metal for example, Hail and Kill owns. Pleasure slave is good fun. The rest, fruity as fuck crap. How can you praise fucking Manoward but shit on Strat? At least I can shit on both for the crap they are.

Dude Kings Of Metal may be big step toward the cheesy part, but all the albums before that are nothing but classic American heavy/power metal to me! No way in hell they are fruity

...and Wheels of Fire is the most powerful song ever!
