Elvenking is great. :)
Cruachan is solid, their CD 'The middle kingdom' is a favorite of mine. :D
Wuthering Heights is awesome, looking forward to their new one. :D
Skyclad I've never really cared for (and don't actually own any of their CDs).

Check these out:
Almora (Awesome!)
Knight Errant (pretty good)
Tuatha de Danann (okay)
Tyr (I don't have this band though)
Falconer (earlier stuff)
Galloglass (Killer!)

There's also a band called Hyubris, but I have been unable to find their debut for sale (can anyone help?)

Clint

If you can stand a tiny, little, itty-bitty bit of harsher vocals, try Shaman (the one from Finland; they were an earlier incarnation of Korpiklaani), though they're hard to find (mostly you find the Shaman that's from Brazil or somewhere in South America).

There's been a good number of threads about folk metal before. Do a search for a more diverse recommendations.

It's weird that you think mature folk metal is only with clean vocals. What do you mean with "mature" anyway ?

I dont see a reason why, even someone who hates growls, doens't like Ensiferum. The music is so good and Jari's vocals are one of the best.
Tyr's second album Eric The Red is quite solid. Haven't heard the first one.
Korpiklaani have released the best album this year for me, so you should check them too.

Try Primordial. It's not really BM-vox'd.

Try Kiuas love this band they mix everything from folk to black metal, and epic, symphonic metal with bombastic , crushing power metal.

Elvenking and Wuthering Heights are a rare breed. You won't find much else like them. Everything else is kind of blegh.

Them Brazilian's are awesome! Except for their latest release. They also had to change their name to Shaaman. Or maybe it's Shamaan. I can't remember. Anyway, I've never the Shaman from Finland.

this post was pointless.

Try TURISAS - BATTLE METAL
It's epic, vocaly it may be harsh, it was my firs contact with folk and I love it.
It's kind of a celebration through Drink / Dance after the WAR is over kind of metal. All this at a finnish pub isolated in a florest.
Try it...
