I was a bit dissapointed with his short answers, but then again, he is on extensive touring so... it makes sense.

Mike Patton is a genius anyway...

Man! Mike Patton... extremely good work getting that one, Daniel.

I agree... he did give disappointingly short answers, especially when you asked about what he thought about metal subgenres. Would of especially liked to hear what he thought of BM: On the one hand that genre seems diametrially opposed to what Patton often does in his music- Patton is relenlessly changing track, but black metal is essentially very conservative- but at the same time there are musicians there who have followed similar paths to him (e.g. Garm, as we were discussing earlier).

Still, great to see an interview with him up here at all, imo, and nice to see his presence becoming more prominent on metalreviews since the release of the new album.

Thanks rio, and yes, I was very curious to see his answer to the Metal/Black Metal questions... but oh well, who knows? Maybe in the future I can manage to find him with more time to answer, but then again, he's busy 99% of the time with all his projects.

thanks for the itw Daniel... I would have expected longer answers but then, I know Mike to be quite difficult in itws... the whole thing is to get him hooked on a subject then he becomes a lot more "verbial"...

anyways, good questions and, YES !, Patton IS A GENIUS !

Maybe his geniusness would be a lot more obvious if he didn't answer like a 14 year old fag...

I expected every answer but not the ones he gave! I was very surprised. But in part i agree with Gast, some of his answers where lame! Anyways, Daniel thanks for the effort!
