I wish I could say this changed my perspective of COB, but all it did was make me have less faith in their future releases.

I think the only good thing coming out of that interview was that it wasn't with Laiho and therefore these ideas about In Flames and Metallica aren't necessarily shared by him.

Nice interview.

Glad to hear that they like the heavier sound and plan to continue it.. I really like the direction of their last two albums.

Don't expect anyone to share that opinion here.

In all i believe it was a decent interview but i have to admit i was a little diapointed after it.,, i had a ton of more questions but things got all fucked up, they made me wait like an hour and a half in the backstage, and then they tell me i'll be interviewing Henkka instead of Alexi... the interview wasn;t done in a quiet setting either, people were coming in an out of the cramped room so by the end i was fairly annoyed and cut it short because i was going to air this interview and it sounded quite unprofessional with all the background noise. I basically wanted to get "what the deal" was with their new album musical direction and in all i think it was quite successful in the end despite the brevity.

agreed, but it didnt seem like he was off track with the rest of the band. the guy really seemed like a rep for himself rather than the band. either way, i archive their first 3 albums and walk away from bodom. they really dont seem like they want to do anything like their earlier work, which is fine, but i can hear what they play now from many bands if i wanted to, but i dont. at least they made hatebreeder.

I've been constantly trading off between listening to Hatebreeder and Are You Dead Yet? trying to get my head around this whole Children of Bodom thing. I've come to the conclusion that Hatebreeder was put onto a rediculous pedistal. People fucking worship that album and god knows why. If you listen to the discography in reverse you realize that the feel and energy of Children of Bodom remains consistent throughout. It's not so much that that the new albums are bad, it's that Hatebreeder really wasn't as good as it was hyped up to be. It's not a classic. Sure, It kicks serious ass, but people put the world on these guys' shoulders without just cause.

Oh, and by the way, the singer is one seriously sexy bitch.

I'm not disappointed with the new album because it doesn't live up to previous work, I'm disappointed with it because while they've kept their signature sound, they've changed what made it so enjoyable for me. You won't see me calling Hatebreeder a classic, but its still miles ahead of the new release.

you betcha... but lets just say their lack of good looks was made up by their weight. This is not a topic for discussion here, but i don't get why 95% of metal chicks are ugly as hell while the other 5% are centerfold worthy.... amazing anomaly.
