Great interview. Dave has always interesting things to say. I especially enjoyed the Lars Ulrich part hehehehe.

A very interesting interview indeed.. I wish he just would stop mentioning metallica alltoghether though, it still sounds like he is upset he isn't in that band anymore. I mean yeah, if someone asks him about metallica he should of course answer in a straight and direct way, but when he brings them up in unrelated issues he just ends up sounding like a whiny kid who didn't get what he wanted for christmas.

I couldn't agree with you more. I felt the exact same thing when I read his interview.

Also, as a medical student, I can tell you that he cannot explain his condition for shit.

I haven't been paying much attention the last couple of years, but what is up with the recent Ellefson hate. By all accounts (and my brief meeting with him in person years ago), he seemed like an allright guy, but now that Mustaine doesn't like him anymore all of a sudden he's bad?

My feeling is that he should just change Megadeth to 'The Dave Mustaine Band' or maybe 'Megadave' because its obvious the man has problems working with other people. Why is it nearly everyone involved with the band is fired or leaves and Dave has something negative to say about them?

All he does is bring up metallica. Every single time I see an interview, or whatever. It's stupid.

It seems like he is very bitter and angry that Metallica is more popular. He really should just move on and stop any association with them.

So can anyone explain to me what happened to mustaine that he needed such rigorous therapy?

He fell asleep on a chair with his arm hanging over the back or something. Some weird position. Whatever it was, it was in such a way that it did serious nerve damage. I think he said he lost blood circulation in the arm for too long as well or something like that. Basically it's because of this chair that he almost lost use of his arm. Maybe that's why he wrote Kick the Chair, he's pissed at it for messing up his arm.

It's called a "Saturday Night Palsy" and no, I didn't make that name up. It typically happens in people who fall asleep with an arm hanging off a chair or bed. The bloodflow to the arm is cut off and without oxygenated blood, the nerves are the first cells to die. Two nerves in his arm in particular were damaged but since they weren't physically injuried (ie. severed, crushed etc...) the nerves were able to regenerate. It takes a long time but peripheral nerves can regenerate usually around 1mm per month.

Dave Mustaine, age shall not mellow you..

One of the true characters of metal

Shame about the Poland fiasco.

Unfortunately Dave's restraining hand on Polands solos shows.

They are fine but not up to the outstanding work he is truly capable of. In this Mustaines arrogance has depleted the album for me.

hey jay u seem to know about this. . . is it just me or is mustaine way fucking off in what happened to him . . . radial nerve to ulnar? . . .the radial ulnar nerve . . .

ok people anatomy time:
cervicals 5 to 8 and thoracic 1 make up the bracial plexus
the ulnar is a terminal branch of the medial cord usually from fibers c8 and T1, while the radial is a terminal branch of the post cord c5-c8 and t1 . . . . whatever right . . . well in the forearm (it goes shoulder, arm, forearm, hand) u have two bones radial and ulnar the radial nerve courses through and enters the radial groove to inervate extensor muscles and triceps while the ulnar passses down the medial part of arm to go to the medial part of forearm (the ulnar bone is medial in anatomical position, with the thumb pointing towards the outside) anyways it innervates the FLEXOR MUSCLES AND MOST OF THE MUSCLES OF THE HAND . . .

so i think that he fucked the radial nerve, cause if u fuck it up in the groove like he said, u get a weaking in the tricep, and some of the more distal muscles in the posterior compartment of the forearm get paralyze - - - - - - which causes wrist drop . . . .

with wrist drop u are unable to extend the wrist so it drops or it lies flexed . . . . if im wrong correct me . . . im 100 percent sure of the nerves but if he had wrist drop it's just my speculation . . . im yet in the 4th month of med school . . .and i haven't done the arm nor the forearm . . anyways . . .

IS IT JUST ME OR IS THE NEW CD GOOD?, I THNK THE LAST THREE HAVE BEEN SHIT.... EXCEPT FOR THE LIVE ALBUM . . .ALRIGHT L8ER

I agree with all those , who noticed Mustaines bitter attitude towards Metallica and Lars in particular . Not that this attitude isn't normal for someone , who was kicked out of a band , who created music that will forever have it's page in the sacred book of Metal History , and then created albums that weren't entirely good . The funny thing is that he trys to squeeze every penny out of the situation he was put in and will often contrast Metallica when the topic is completly irrelevant . Poor soul , and to think he truly believes that he is a pure person . I think he just quite doesn't know where to draw the line . Everyone is an enemy to this guy if they are better or different to him . What about him refering everything to how much of a loser he was as a kid selling drugs . If anything , i feel that out of shear pity and irony , i should give him a stand in ovation for his 20 years of uselesness . also , the fact that he holds a grudge that big after this long , is really stupid . I understand why , but you gotta know when to grow up.

Simply My opinion , but i sincerely believe that he must have been quite an asshole then as he is now to have been kicked out of a band that would spend their days hung over and evenings wasted .

I am glad he was kicked out. Yes, Mustaine is not perfect, but in his career he made some awesome songs, what more do you need?

Great interview. Personally, I love Megadeth (or the couple of albums I have, anyway). Dave seems a nice guy from the interview, I just hope he doesn't jack it in, but keeps going.
