The best album Manowar never made, no doubt in my mind. If they had made it, it would have stood out in their discography as the most mature and wellwritten effort to date. But this is Virgin Steele's album ofcourse, and they deserve the praise.
I remember I listened to the realaudio soundsamples (with my 28.8k modem) on Noiserecords website more times than I have listened to most my bought CD's. When I finally got it, I had to listen to the album atleast three times every day for several months. It remains the most worn out CD in my collection, but the music never wears out.

I gotta agree with you. Virgin Steele is definitely one of the best underappreciated bands in metal. David Defeis sings like no other and is one of the best composers out there.

My all-time favourite band! I own their every release (except the vinyls), I have double Age Of Consent (T+T/Noise 1997 and first pressing of Maze's CD with different tracklist and cover). I must admit that "Marriage Part I" is my favourite VS album, but I love "Invictus" too. Extremely powerful sound, and amazing vocals. DeFeis rules! :twisted:
