Wasn't the (imo) awesome nightside eclipse cover done by him as well?

He also did "the secrets of the black arts". Do you know anythinq else he has made?

I have yet to see a piece he did that didn't rock.

Well if he did StormOTLB then it's a safe bet.

Just started listening to this 2 days ago and for now it's probably the best BM I've ever heard. Incredible stuff. :dio:

I will probably get a lot of static for this, but, here goes...
I don't know why everybody calls this Black Metal.
It has some Black Metal elements, true; but, that's all.
It's way too layered, way too polished and it is nowhere near being dark enough.
It's the beginning of the path away from Black metal, into the territory of "hybrid " metal.
I waited for over a year for this to be released, and I remember being a bit disappointed.
Still, it's a decent album made by top-notch musicians.

Fire away...

I can see where you're coming from, but I wouldn't say this for Anthems so much as IX Equilibrium, which imho is where Emperor really lost it. Anthems was an important album in the development of post-black metal, and yet is still quite 'black' as far as I'm concerned. Depends on your definition of BM at the end of the day...

This Cd really grew on me... I picked it up years ago not knowing what to expect .. After listening to it a few times i set it down and never returned to it, feeling rather disappointed with it...Then one night while writing a paper for college I popped it in and it blew me away.. I am not sure what I missed those first few listens, but now i listen to it frequently.....
