I can't believe I never noticed this review until now.
Anyway, I agree that this is definitely a classic. One of the top metal albums of the mid-90s. Old, Davidian, The Rage To Overcome, A Nation Under Fire, etc. All are awesome songs. And regarding Real Eyes, Realize, Real Lies (one of my favorite song titles by the way); it has its place. It's basically the kind of song that makes the album seem more "complete."
And as for reviewing Korn's self titled album, why not? After all, Issues has already been reviewed here. A review for Korn - S/T wouldn't be too out of place. Mind you, I've only heard one song (Blind) and didn't really care for it, but considering the album's importance I don't really find reviewing it to be too much out of the question.
I find it a little sad that a lot of metal fans have such a burning hatred towards nu-metal that they go as far as to slam any band/album that even dared to influence the genre. Okay, here are some "socially acceptable" metal bands that influenced nu-metal: 80s Metallica (yep, the great Master of Puppets is cited as an influence by a lot of nu-metal bands), Slayer, Fear Factory, Pantera, Sepultura, Carcass, Faith No More, Alice In Chains (if you consider them metal), and yes Machine Head (this album in particular). So if you really wanted to shun any band that influenced nu-metal, you'd basically be shunning a lot of the big-name metal bands of the 80s and early/mid-90s. Nu-metal is a crappy genre, but it isn't worth getting so warped up over that you wind up shunning excellent bands/albums just for accidentally influencing it.
