I don't know if I'd call it a classic, but it's without a doubt one of my favorite Christian metal albums, and one of my favorite death metal albums period. Good review.

Not heard this. Since when are Megilloth a Christian thing, anyway?

Same here. Rowe was at his finest on this album. Wish they would go back to their death metal roots on future albums though.

Have you heard their latest? It's fucking awful. But the album that came before that, "Erasing the Goblin", is stellar. Probably their best since "Post Momentary Affliction".

Yeah wasn't impressed but I do have Erasing The Goblin and I though that was a good album myself.

Don't think I've ever heard these guys, but this review has peaked my interest. Think I will check it out.

This album is ok, but I don't think I'd consider it a classic.

75/100 from me

I'd call it a classic in the sense, of what it has done for Christian metal. It is one the "original foundations" for christian metal and a big influence on future bands and their contemporaries. Ex. Becoming the Archetype and Living Sacrifice.

This assumes Christian metal matters. Then again I would say this about power metal as well lol.

I don't think you guys are getting the point. This is one of the most cerebral and diverse Death Metal albums from the height of Death Metal's glory years. Who cares if it's Christian? How many people can understand Death Metal lyrics perfectly anyways? It's just a great album. Whether it's Christian, Jewish, Buddhist, Satanist, or whatever the Hell it is, it's a great album.

Yeah, music is the important thing here, guys.

But I say again, I do agree that this isn't a classic. A fantastic death metal record, yes; an important and highly influential piece of metal music, no. I remember when I reviewed Rigor Mortis' debut as a classic and someone suggested that this site start a sort of "Underground Classics" section. The viability of such a feature is debatable, but for albums like this it would be perfect.
