The thing about the song that caused the controversey, Better By You, Better Than Me, wasn't their own song. It was a Spooky Tooth cover.

By the way a true classic and a landmark for metal :dio: :dio: :dio:

Probably my favourite Priest album - found it on vinyl for $7 second hand (thus, original copy) in late 2009, so stoked. Exciter never fails to get me wailing at the top of my lungs, and Beyond the Realms of Death is one of the most epic classic metal tracks ever written. Nice one Zad :dio:

Exciter is easily one of my favorite Judas Priest songs. I end up having the same problem with it as many of Judas Priest's pre Painkiller albums in that there is quite a bit of filler, but even the filler here is great stuff so I really have no right to complain.

Priest is my favourite band and I go back and forth a lot on what my favourite album of theirs is. But all in all, this seems to be the one that I come back to the most. Brilliant songwriting, proto-NWOBHM/thrash/everything good in the universe, actually decent lyrics, and some damn good songs. Exciter, Stained Class, Saints in Hell, Savage, Beyond the Realms of Death and even Heroes' End are among Priest's best. And the version of Stained Class on Halford's live album is just fucking awesome.

Easily my favorite Priest album. I love Savage (which wasn't even mentioned!?) and this album is just quintessential to metal. So great. I remember someone mentioning Beyond the Realm of Death on some random thread which led me to look more into this album and I owe that person so much.

Excellent review Zad! :dio:

Not counting Unleashed In The East this is my favourite Priest album, and IMO one of the best Heavy Metal albums of all time, a true CLASSIC, every Metal/Rock fan should listen to this.

:dio: Beyond the Realms of Death may very well be my favorite song of all time,by any band.

It certainly has the best solo IMHO.

Not my favourite Priest album but Beyond the Realms of Death is so good it's worthy of classic status on that alone.
