One of their best albums. Listen to "Icarus" and "The Trooper", IMO two of the best songs they've ever made and you'll know what I mean.
On the other hand, this album has many flaws, especially at the end, but the good songs cover up for the less. I'd rate it 8,5/10.

...and "Die With Your Boots On" it's a pretty underrated Maiden song IMO. That trio on the album is so amazing:
3- "Flight Of Icarus"
4- "Die With Your Boots On"
5- "The Trooper"

I know you're all gonna kill me for this, but IMO the Sonata Arctica cover of Die With Your Boots On is better than the original.

Don't forget Revelations and Still life, a very underrated song. Or Where eagles dare...

For me, the best Maiden album. And it's a difficult choice, cause all first 7 are masterpieces.

Completely excellent album. Quest For Fire is kind of weak, but besides that, everything is awesome, especially Revelations, Flight of Icarus, Still Life and To Tame a Land.

@FrigidSymphony:

Never heard that cover, I might give it a try, anything is possible...
Norther cover of "Youth Gone Wild" is by far superior to the original, just to give an example.

Well said. Because of those three songs I thought I would never be able to listen to the rest of the album, I just kept replaying those three.

Same here. They're amazing songs.

Indeed Piece Of Mind is a classic, but not as good as other classic Maiden early albums (Powerslave, Beast, Iron Maiden).

There are alot of "forgotten" songs on there, such as Quest For Fire, Sun and Steel and To Tame A Land, which are all very good tracks.
I was never a fan of Die With Your Boots On and i have heard a few people say that they prefered the Sonata Arctica version of the song. Revelations is another track which i'm not a big fan of, but Where Eagles Dare is good.
Easily the best two tracks are Flight Of Icarus and The Trooper.

This album should be in the top 5-7 of Maiden's best albums, for every Maiden fan.

    1.Piece of Mind
    1.Killers
    3.Iron Maiden
    3.Number of the Beast
    5.Somewhere in Time
    6.Powerslave
    7. Seventh Son

and that's for me as I would never say "every maiden fan blah blah blah blah bullshit etc..."

Any person who likes Maiden should have Piece Of Mind up there with their favourite albums, and why not, its a good album.

It just happens to be your number 1 album

So what the fuck are you carrying on about?
