Ah, yes...King Diamond...the man that got me out of my glam phase and headed into the darker/heavier side of extreme music. "Them" will always be a personal favorite (horrible production, though!), but Abigail is an absolute classic. Thanks for finally getting it reviewed. :dio:

I've always prefered Them as well but this is still a great album. And while I can understand why someone would dislike King's vocals,I've always felt they fit the mood of the music perfectly. :dio:

No worse than saying, "Dave Mustaine sounds too much like Daffy Duck."

he doesn't sound like Daffy Duck. People who say that are stupid.

it's also stupid saying King Diamond sounds like Oscar the grouchs wife on steroids. It's not funny nor is it true.

Sorry, but that's what I'm reminded of when I hear Corpse Without A Soul.

King Diamond is the true King of Evil.

Fatal Portrait, Abigail, Them, Conspiracy & The Eye are true classics 4ever for his golden period

King vocals are one of the best things in heavy metal

Alright fine. I'll just say King Diamond's vocals sound too screechy for me.

This.
It's the only thing that is stopping me from liking the music.

Strangely enough, King's vocals don't bother me that much in Mercyful Fate. I think the music's so good that it makes it acceptable.

Mr. Kim Bendix's vocals are so ridiculous that on that level alone I love them. Additionally, he writes some very awesome melodies and harmonies that sound even more interesting given the way he sings them. I love King Diamond, but prefer Mercyful Fate on account of the guitarists. I like Andy Larocque, but Michael Denner and Hank Sherman are the masters. Don't Break the Oath is probably one of the finest heavy metal albums ever made.

100% agreed, although Abigail is better IMO :D (not by much though)
