I didn't enjoy this one at all. Several decent songs, the rest is bleh. Definitely NOT a classic.

i beg to differ.
it's definitely a classic edguy album.
mandrake was much weaker than this one and, while it's a very good release, hellfire club is nearly as good as theater.

as far as i'm concerned, theater is the best edguy album (alright, the best album WITH vain glory opera.)

by the way, key to my fate still is the best edguy song (and one of the best heavy metal songs with painkiller, tarot's Pyre of gods and savatage's gutter ballet.)

To be honest, I'm not sure if any of Edguy's discs will stand the test of time and become classics.. I would give Avantasia a much better chance.

It might be a classic EDGUY album, but it is not a classic metal album. But of course you are entitled to your own opinion.

Yeah I can agree with that. Both Avantasia albums are magnificent

Edguy never wrote a classic album and I'm pretty sure they never will.
I don't thing Avantasia will age very well either.

Everything about the band screams flowers and cupcakes.....and mindless double bass.

I love Edguy, but I don't think any of their albums can be considered classics.

Agreed this is not a classic but, just like every other Edguy album, a good album with some great songs and some average songs. IMO the both Avantasia albums are better than any Edguy album though.

"Theater of Salvation" was the first Edguy's song I heard...you can understand, then, why I got "hook" at straight !!!! :)
There are a lot of musical changes all through the song...lots of vocal variations and you never know what to expect...It's simply GREAT !!!

Funny, I was just listening to this album tonight, I had no idea it was being discussed again. My opinion: good, but a little overcooked. Wake Up The King, for example, is just ridiculous, but still it's a strong album overall. VGO is better.
