for some reason I got this band's name stuck with Ripping Corpse, I'll be checking this out tonight; nice review by the way.

Ripping Corpse is cool, but Rigor Mortis is waaaay better.

Indeed. I'm so psyched over the possibility of a new Rigor Mortis album in '10, especially now that they have Bruce Corbitt back on vocals.

The psychedelic aspect of this has me interested. I might just give this a try.

He seeks fresh bodies in the morgue to test his new creation
Injecting serum in the corpses for the hope of re-animation
He has conquered brain death, welcome back to life!

Re-animator, re-animate me
The human dosage factor is unknown a super charged zombie awakes
Becomes sort of a blood blithering creature everyone's death is at stake
They will give him power, he will give them life!

I'm not insane, I'm dead, but he gave me life!

H.P. Lovecraft influenced lyrics are awesome. Or did they write it about a 2 year old movie? I'm surprised no one has mentioned this song.

I am almost certain it is based on the uber cheese 80s movie.

Isn't everything?

I'd rather see Coma Of Souls get a classic review than a generic thrash album that only a few people have ever heard of.

Most Thrash fans that I know love Rigor Mortis.

And I'm hoping to review Coma Of Souls sometime in the next few months, so no worries there.

This is a great album, but I'm second guessing my belief that this is a classic album....there are a lot of thrash albums that are really awesome, but are not classic. Classic means that it has survived the test of time and has been hugely influential....or at least moderately influential but still incredibly awesome. I'd have to say that Rigor Mortis fails the influential test. THough awesome, this album has not had any impact on metal....so for that reason I say its just a great album. Now Coroner's Punishment for Decadence, now that's a fuckin classic!

there should be like an underground classic status. In which Rigor Mortis would get that title.
