Yes i agree with the reviewer. The problem of this album is that the drummer does not flow with the music extremely well...Other than that it is freaking amazing.

I don't find a problem with Richard Christy's drumming on this album at all. This album never ceases to amaze me, and was my first encounter with death metal.

This is far and away the best Death album, and I can say without hyperbole that this is one of the best albums ever made, in any genre in the history of music. A monumental achievement!

Agreed. I actually find the drumming superb.

the vocals on this were more black than death, but that just adds to the albums ultrayummyness!

Some of the songs on this album were rather tedious, but tracks like "Flesh and the Power it Holds" were excellent. The performances were great, Christy in particular was a treat. Plus Chuck's vocals were never better.

Okay, I totally want this album. What's the overall consensus about it here?

I really need to get this album. I have Symbolic and it is amazing. Speaking of which, it desperately needs to be reviewed on this site.

I just downloaded it a few weeks ago. Awesome album. Thing is, I'm not really used to that more progressive style of metal so I'll probably have to listen to it a few more times.

That's weird. Death was an immediate thing with me, they were one of my early extreme bands and they hooked me right away. This album especially I always thought of as one of their more immediate albums.

Well, great music true, but I always thought the growling vocals never quite fitted Death's style at the time, it showed that Chuck wanted to do something like Control Denied back then. So I'm more of a Symbolic fan myself

I thought 'Spiritual Healing' was their best album, until i heard most of this album. Now I really really want it, but I can't get it anywhere because no-one has it, and trying to download a complete album on the Net is an absolute bastard. Is 'Human' any good?
