I know man hahaha.
Not that that offends me in any way, I just can't get past the thrashing madness of "Scream bloody gore" to the saccharine weak melodies of their latter works. I understand they are two completely styles of the band, it just doesn't cut it for me. Glad you all enjoy it though.

Dude wtf, what's next, you're going to say Storm of the Light's Bane has ok melodies I guess?

IMO some things like the Death discography are just untouchable, honest to goodness classic stuff.

this album is just untouchable, no flaws whatsoever, Death just always managed to raise the bar, first with Scream Bloody Gore, then again with Spiritual Healing then just as other death metal bands were starting to challenge them for the status of death metal kings they proved Death's reign is never ending with Sound Of Perseverance

I actually agree with steve here; Leprosy, Scream Bloody Gore... those are THE classics (and conspicuously missing).

Those were truly groundbreaking for the time and of course still stand on their own today.

For all of Kreator's relentlessness, and Possessed's, for that matter, Death's first two at least matched, perhaps even surpassed them (in many ways).

A Moment of Clarity has one of my favorite leads of all time.

Great record, I hardly listen to it anymore but I'll spin it once in a while.

Vocals are a little weak though, I'll be honest.

Exactly. And this one not so much. It stands insofar as Chuck was the mastermind behind it. But for no other reason. I think I posted on this once before and so I won't rehash my arguments.
