Testament has always been the bastard sons of thrash bands like Exodus, Overkill, Slayer, Megadeth, Metallica and Anthrax. Their first few albums were good. I never really liked anything after Souls of Black. The guitars on "The Legacy" are a bit too compressed for my tastes. What they did on "The New Order" was a big improvement both in production and songwriting.

I'll need to buy this album in the near future. I've heard it a couple times, and I agree that it's awesome.

The best Testament album hands down. It's one of my fav thrash albums evar, the guitar work, riffs and especially the solos and leads are outstanding. If a T deserves a classic status, this is it.

i guess you have to give credit where credit is do, I don't think theyve done anything for the genre in the vein of Slayer of Kreator or any other band for that matter but for what its worth what the hell!

Don't really like this one. I'd take Practice or New Order over it any day.

This is the only Testament album I like. Over the Wall has probably one of the greatest thrash metal solos of all time.

Like Holy_Terror, this is the only Testament I like.
It is quite good, if you get past the bass-y snare sound (never liked that. I much prefer the snare to have a crisp sound to it).

Wouldn't go as far as you guys, as there are other Testament albums i like, but i'd say Legacy is the only Testament album that's really fuckin GREAT; i mean the New Order and Practice What You Preach are good albums, just not GREAT albums.

Anyone heard the Anvil Chorus album they just recorded? All of the bay area bands for the most part shared members at some point in time.

One of the best and most respected bands in the business.
I still have this original LP with the plastic wrap in place from 1987 - Had to check it out because of a record review from one of the leading metal magazines at the time ( hit parader ? )

It simply stated that Testament was similar to Metallica "Only Better" ( One hell of a compliment / unbeleivable statement in 1987)

Over the Wall !
