Like you said, this is indeed a classic... If you can stomach King Diamond's peculiar vocals. I personally never could but I'll try it again.

Yeah, I would say the "pecularity" is toned down somewhat on this one. You might like it.

I know it Adam... I actually bought the vinyl version back in the days and tried it again a few years back when a friend's got the cd... No, sorry, I just can't but the music's awesome, for sure.

Oh, didn't know you were an old school metal fan, my mistake. I can understand people not liking KD's vocals, they're certainly odd. I was playing Abigail in the car the other day and my wife proceeded to make fun of his singing for the rest of the day.

I had a hard time getting into King Diamond's vocals as well. I kept on trying though since the music is absolutely awesome. Took me a good whole though, and I don't recommend listening over and over again. Listen once in a while.

Great choice for a classic! I thought they improved alot with "Don't Beak The Oath" and made a great comeback with "In the Shadows". One of the most unique metal bands ever!

Another amazing album. I do not own this, but my friend does and he plays it almost everytime I come over to his house. I really need to get this.

Adam good review.

King Diamond's voice is central to his personality, if you know what that is. He doesn't take himself or his singing that seriously. It was probably a joke to begin with and it was entertaining and distinguising enough to stick around. I've gone over this before though, so you remember.

I thought this was a pretty decent album. I know it is such a great album, but sometimes this is a laborious album to get into. Not quite as immediate as it should be and not as long lasting either. One of those albums that's great while you listen to it but doesn't begged to be played all the time.

Don't Break the oath is a different story...

Back in my university years, one of my best friends was King's diamond fan. He let me tapes, Abigail, Them, but I couldn't stand his voice. But one day he let me a tape with this album, and something in my mind made click... and since this day, I'm a King Diamond voice fan :)

Curse of the Pharaohs os one of my favorite songs of all times.

This just has classic written all over it! Great review for an awesome album, if you can stomach King's vocals, as everyone said. My personal favorite has to be Melissa. Such an eerie vibe. I myself got into KD with "Them" back in the day! :)

On a side note, Dan Swanö's cover of Melissa is fan-tas-tic! :dio:

If you don't like it's ok, but saying it sucks is retard. :lame:
