Riff's exactly the same as chuggy one in Necrophiliac. I can't remember which song as it's been about 5 years since I last heard Schizophrenia.

Personally Beneath The Remains and Arise are my favourite Sepultura albums.

hang on a minute so you're gonna criticise an album you haven't listened to in at least five years? I'm sorry but I can't even take what you're saying seriously now

People have a thing called "memory." Dunno if you're aware of that.

I owned it for like 10 years and listened to it plenty of times. I got rid of it for those reasons mentioned above.

It didn't gel with me and the riffs that I recognised from other bands irritated me and I'd think "Why not just listen to the bands that wrote those riffs in the first place."

Also hate Judas Priest and I haven't listened to them in years except for occassionally Youtubing the song Screaming For Vengeance. But I remember how songs like United or Turbolover or the whole Rocka Rolla album sound like and how much they used to grate.

I've gotten rid of about 200 albums in my lifetime and I can tell you why I got rid of each one from Poison's Open Up and Say Ahh when I was 12 (terrible pop rock for the most part and I wantged heavy) down to Darkthrone "Under A Funeral Moon" (figured out I can't stand Black Metal's awful production and guitar style - got rid of it when I was about 25) to Witchery's Dead Hot and Ready (boring other than like 2 songs - got rid of it at about 27).

apologies, I was of the impression you had listened to it maybe twice then ditched it

I still don't hear what you're talking about with the album so we'll just have to agree to disagree there

fair enough regarding Darkthrone, that production (or lack of it) isn't for everyone I personally love it, poison well that begs the question what were you doing with it in the first place?

I used to be a Tr00 metal wanker who was convinced that one should listen to all extreme metal whilst waging war on Nu-Metal/Metalcore/Alternarock/Grunge masses.

Hence I desperately tried to get into Black Metal and used to listen to mindless Grind (which mainly came from Czech Republic for some reason).

Then rationality kicked in and I started listening to what I liked and dumped the masses of albums I owned for "cred" purpose that I forced myself to listen to.

He meant why were you listening to Poison.

His sentences can be hard to decipher.

kids also did weird shit in the nineties, like buy old offspring and kiss singles (which I ditched the moment I became interested in metal) I say fuck listening to bands for cred, listen to what you like and fuck anyone who says bands you like are shit

I pretty much have to adopt that attitude loving such a wide variety of stuff, I got black, death, doom, folk, trad/NWOBHM, power, progressive and thrash interests plus some classic hard rock, prog rock, classic rock i.e The Who, blues, flamenco AND classical music are also big contributors to my listening habits

oh and I forgot some of the early punk stuff I really enjoy as well

Cinderella might be the only good band to come out of the glam era especially when Long Cold Winter came along.

in the immortal words of Dave Mustaine

"I always thought glam was an acronym for Gay L.A Music...I mean if you need to dress like a chick to get people watching you play it means that one you probably aren't very good and two you seriously have some gender confusion issues"

Glam had a few good bands:

Guns N Roses
Motley Crue
Skid Row
Van Halen 1980s stuff
Allice Cooper 1980s stuff
Extreme
Mr Big
The chick out of Warrant's Cherry Pie film clip. Dang she was one hot 1980's babe.

Alice was more shock rock then glam as for the others whilst the babe in that video clip you mentioned is a hottie the song and band still suck, as do guns, crue and so on

Nah, the first two Crue albums are good for what they are.

Guns and Roses do indeed blow, though.

The Trash ahd Hey Stoopid albums were pure sleazy glam. Even had people ala Jon Bon Jovi, Tichie Sambora and Steven Tyler guest appearing on.

You're missing out.

Not much beats drinking beer and partying whilst listening to glam metal.

Unlike other forms of metal, glam is about partying and hot women who wear bugger all clothing.

And it's good music too. And I've loved Guns N Roses for some 20 odd years now.

Though the Vinnie Vincent Invasion was an abomination that needed to be put down as soon as Vinnie was out of KISS. :P
