When this song turns up on my playlist...all activity stops. This to me is a pure definition of musical genius.

I have to admit that I completely forgot this band. After I saw the topic about X-Japan in the forums I suddenly realised how the hell can you forget a band as good as this ?. After that I just had to dig this review from the archives and say a few words.

What can I say about Art of Life ? Here's a few words: Incredible, fantasic, phenomenal. That's pretty much all I can say.

You want to know what it sounds like ? Check out yourself and be amazed. I am speechless everytime I hear it.

100+/100

Great album/song indeed. I still get chills when I listen to it.

...and Toshi's voice rules!!

100+/100 is impossible.

I REALLY want to check this out, but I've got so much stuff to buy right now it'll probably be awhile, especially since it's basically impossible to find at any normal music store. But, it really looks to be incredible, and I love the song "Kurenai" from one of their other CD's.

98/100. I Still can't stand the distorded piano in the middle

Everthing else is pure masterpiece to me. Heavy, Ballad, Rock, Speed, Epic, Classical... You'll get everything except harsh and trashy vocals :P

The classical part after the piano break, with the violins raising, raising, then some Yoshiki drumming madness :dio: ...Outstanding...

Speechless now... I'm listening to that song :D It's too good.

hide, I miss ya man...

I miss X-Japan. I wish Yoshiki would just get back on the drums and write some metal instead of his popish technoish weirdoish crap that he writes now.

I liked the two "Eternal Melody" albums he released after X-Japan.

The first album contains classical/instrumental versions of X-Japan songs (mostly the ballads), while the other contains mostly newly written material.

It may have been recorded while X-Japan was still active, I'm not sure.

Couldn't ever stand X Japan. When I first heard the Art of Life, I thought I initially thought I might be listening to a Celine Dion song. There is some good guitar work spread out here and there, but not enough to make me want to listen to a thirty minute song; and the nine minute piano solo becomes boring quite quickly, especially during parts when it seems like the pianist is simply banging on the piano. Oh, and the singer is the least ballsy singer ever; I like high pitched, but this is, really, as I said before, Celine Dion style. Maybe I should listen to it again, but I really don't get why people like this.

This is one of my all time favorite bands, so I refuse to let you talk this way Billy. Try some of the stuff from Blue Blood. Listen to; track 2 (Blue Blood), track 5 (X), and track 9 (オルガズム). Those are some of the faster thrashier songs.

X Japan is fantastic when Yoshiki is writing. Otherwise I'm not so into it. Almost all of his songs are excellent though, including Art of Life.

I hope his project with that fag Gackt brings some speed metal...*wishful thinking*
