Its totally rediculous isnt it. Early 82 was when those songs were written yet it sounds like 88 or later. Those songs are the blue print for power metal.

It amazes me how bands like satan and Fates Warnings doesnt get all the respect they deserve.

Tis a shame, good thing we appreciate them. Aaron and Cody are good allies in this realm, they too respect the older school of metal.

I concur with said opinion involving the awesomeness of Court in the Act.

I strongly push for a review of it in the classics section. ALong with Riders of Doom by Death Row

Wise words right there. I do like Hatebreeder, but it's by no means a classic or anywhere near the level of stuff like Court in the Act. Nor do I think it's a 100/100. I'd give it like an 80. It would be better if it was more guitar-oriented, with less emphasis on the keys.

Thats my biggest problem with CoB. too much keyboards....and the vocals just drive me crazy. By the way Slough Feg is awesome!

I agree it's a great album, probably CoB's best but it's way too early to consider this a classic...

I think there should be a new policy that an album has to be at least 10 years of age before having a "classics" review... imo, it will make more sense... but great album indeed !

I´m with you all the way

Im on my first listen through this album.. so while I cant really comment on the score, I can say that I think this review deserves to be written again.

This is a really lame review for a classic 100/100 album. Id expect a little about the individual songs or a little more detail about the overall feel. This review seems rushed and poor.

Welcome to the forums man. Stick around and you'll find Children of Bodom are pretty mediocre compared to half the stuff in the metal scene. Browse the other forums and check out some of the bands that are being discussed.

Agreed, people jump all over the new albums like its fucking blasphemy, when it fact, Hatebreeder just wasn't all it was cracked up to be. It's a great album, I will blast it out my car window any day, but let's face it, it's over hyped as hell.
