This is an awesome album. 84 is just too low for it.

I'd give it a 95. This owns %99 of all the stuff out there.

btw Thanks again Misha.

Sounds like what Beyond Dawn was doing ages ago with Pity Love but sounds intriguing, the End needs to sign these guys it sounds like. Nice review!

Great review Alex! And thanks for the kinds PS, it's highly appreciated. The only thing I'd like to add is that the album has some completely awesome postorck buildups/crescendos, like the one in Neath Waters from 8:00 to 13:00. The extraterestial atmosphere you mentioned could be compared to that of Darkspace, beautiful keys combined with earthshifting riffs and rhythms.

By the way, you can download the whole album officially here:

Scroll down to Thy Catafalque.

Everyone should check this out. Don't be scared away by one song, for it's easy to hate one but love the rest. I happen to have the exact same favorites as Alex has, as the killing songs list proves.

how about 95? 90 for the music and a 100 for creating such extremely original music!

WOW! I really like this stuff... Misha, don't tell me this is the one that was limited to 15 copies.

Side note: Band has a cool site, one of the neater ones I've seen at least.

Well, I've accumilated a few more spins, totaling 5 since this morning. This has been a ride of sorts, because I really liked this at first. Then I REALLY liked it. Then I REALLY REALLY liked it. And then, for about an hour or two (playing the songs in their order), I was recommending it to all my friends for DL, berating them for being lazy, and not jumping at something so great, and so .... FREE. Now, I'm letting it play, and I've just passed Neath Waters, and I'm starting to feel a bit exausted of the whole thing. Not just because I've been listening to it too much, but because it's lost some of it's initial likability. I'd say 3 really STRONG songs, Neath Water being the strongest and worth the price (the figurative price) of the album alone, and a bunch of other songs that would be more kick ass if I was high. Still...

70/100.

For now. :D

I really liked Katai Tamas - Erika szobája so I'm looking forward to hearing this one!

I would also like to thank Misha and Astaroth for spreading the word, I listen to Erika daily!

Wow, great album. Surprised you didn't like Heja-nasz az avaron. I thought the sound layering and keyboarding was quite nice.
