The myspace tracks sound interesting, though its kind of hard to hear because of the usual bad quality that goes a long with sampling music through that website. Might have to track this cd down and give it a proper listen.

Odd cover art for a black metal band.

Not really all that black metal imo. It's good stuff I need more listens though before I may a judgment.

I'm usually rather biased when it comes to aggressive vocals but, on this album, everything falls so well into place and fits together so nicely that my usual restrictions were blown away.
To tell you how much I liked Kvelertak's album, I felt obliged to play it again once it reached its end, and again, and again... 5 times in a row actually.
The guitars are razor-sharp, the riffs are godly and not one song disappointed me.
I'd really like to thank you for reviewing it as your review decided me to download it. After those five listens, I couldn't resist it anymore and ordered the CD.
Ho, and Baizley's art is indeed...beautiful.

If I may, I'd like to advise all the people who, like me, share the same restrictions regarding things "extreme" to be curious and give it a try. This is, above all, good rocking with lots of energy and catchy guitar hooks and I'm pretty sure it'll please many.

Yes, they really aren't black metal (no need for an argument on this one). I listened to the myspace as well, and despite being too punky for my usual taste, I'd admit to some rocking riffs here.

I guess I agree on the black metal part. To be honest I did want to put the unclassifable tag there. If you listen to the whole damn thing though, I think you'll get why I put it there.

Well I appreciate you tagging it the way you did, because otherwise I may not have checked it out.

Blackened Hardcore'n'Roll seems to be a fitting tag.

There's plenty of black metal in the riffs. I wouldn't of course classify it as straight black metal, but it's in there.

This is an awesome album. I love bands like this that are trying to do different things within genres. Great mixture of sound going on here. I like how when I start to doubt the album may continue to be enjoyable they mix it up again.

I'm not convinced from the myspace stuff that black metal and hardcore should mix.

Jakob didn't seem to like that stunt at all hahaha... Anyway, the guys in Kvelertak are awesome.
