Here's a small trivia : When Mark Reale took a break from riot in the late 80's, he formed a project with S.A. Slayer band members, but I can't remember the band name right now.

Btw, S.A. Slayer / Juggernaut vocalist Steve Cooper died recently, R.I.P.

I've never listened to any Riot other than ThunderSteel. Which is odd, since its such a wtfpwn album you'd think I would have sought out more of their stuff. But no....

I didnt like Priveledge. I thought it was too inconsistent, there's like 3 good songs and then the rest are really strange and way too poppy....too many keyboards and horns too.

Sons of Society was crap.....that's the only recent album of theirs I've heard.

Especially coming after Thundersteel, I thought Priviledge was a HUGE disappointment. It's by far my least favorite Riot album. Almost every song has a boring intro full of TV sounds, and I can't stand horns in my music. 3 good songs sounds about right to me. After hearing Thundersteel, it's easy to tell that PoP could have been so much better.

Sons of Society is the worst DiMeo era Riot album. Check out Inishmore. It's one of the better ones.

Thundersteel is such a hard act to follow. If none of the later albums are up to that standard then I'm not even going to waste my time. The early material is great though. Fire Down Under and Born in America are pretty kick ass.

Well i guess im the Wierdo then, because i really liked The privilege Of Power, but i listened to it before listening to Thundersteel, so the dissapointment factor never really bother me. i know it sounds stupid but one thing that kept me from listening to early Riot albums was that stupid mascot they use in many of their covers, so when a friend of mine lend me his PoP album i was pleasently surprised.

I mean how stupid is this cover:

The album is great though.
