Very good album indeed, as are their others. I'd also recommend October Falls to anyone who like this and the other albums mentioned in the review, "Kveldssanger" in particular.

I thoroughly enjoy Nest, Ulver and Agalloch, and I'd been listening to Empyrium quite a lot a few months back. Also be sure to check out Darkwood from Germany!

I recently got into Empyrium and this album in particular. Really awesome stuff, and a nice break from all the power metal and prog i listen to.

I really should check out their other stuff, though it seems it is pretty hard to find where i live.

All i know is that they broke up. On their website it says they wanted to do other things, that they had done everything they could with their dark themed music formula or something. A shame.

Indeed it is a shame.....Such things always happen with talented musicians.

Yes, but as previously mentioned in this thread, there are several bands that play in a similar style that are also worth checking out.

I have really enjoyed the new Nest album too, better than Woodsmoke, I think.

Discovered this band in the early years of metal and they're still brilliant. Their sound is very reminiscent of Tenhi's music. Dark, melancholic, and hopeful at the same time. Their debut should be reviewed here.

Maybe the other way around, Empyrium came first. Good band btw, I remember really enjoying Songs of Moors and Misty Fields back in the day.

I remember his mom died tragically, and then he soon dropped off the map. A shame.

@Oldschool: Of course they did, I know that. What I meant to say is that these guys have been a very good influence on Tenhi's music. As Ulver, Dead Can Dance, and Devil Doll have influenced Empyrium's music.

This is still one of my favorite albums, great and truly dreamy acoustic music that takes my mind to another place everytime I hear the album.
