You’re a bigger fan of prog rock / metal, so this doesn’t surprise me at all. I’m sure those who are more into prog will share your opinion. I’m more into traditional metal, so that’s why I’m biased toward Mechanized Warfare. Either way, both albums are great!

I would consider them more along the lines of power metal than progressive.....

I prefer Mechanized Warfare as well, but that's not to take anything away from Thane either.

Jag Panzer is not prog at all. They have a very unique style. Thane to the Throne is a masterpiece and is much better than Mechanized Warfare, lyrically it is brilliant.

This album probably deserves at least a 90%, I don't have it yet, but someone should add their own score to it. You can't give such excellent and unique band a lower score while giving generic bands like Edguy, Dragonland, Mob Rules, etc. such high scores. It is amazing how great and unique bands get mediocre grades while generic clones get praised.

I'd say right now it's a solid 85%. Definitely an excellent album that I may like better than Mechanized Warfare. It's definitely their heaviest release. Not better than Thane to the Throne though.

This is a great juicy chunk of music that will take a while to digest. I already like it more than Mechanized Warfare. Jag Panzer always try some new elements, so it is not surprising they also do the same with this album. This album will grow on you with every listen. There is not one bad song on this CD. The only complaints are:

1. Vocals seem to be a bit too quiet on all but the last song
2. Choruses seem a bit uninspiring and monotonous, I really wish they put more variation into the choruses--kind of like on the song the Moors from the Age of Mastery album.

But despite that this is at least a 90% album

What a voice. Diverse and emotional heavy metal. Great stuff.

The only shortcoming of this CD is it doesn't contain a killer track in the vein of 'King At a Price' from TTTT (howz that for an acronym?) but damn is it solid.

Concerning the score - some CDs are a bad 79, but this is definately a good 79. More like an 80s in my books.

I would say Legion Immortal and The Mission are somewhat equivalent to King at a Price. But this is definitely solid and even, with all tracks being very good even Cold which some don't like. The whole album is rather unique. This album definitely deserves 90/100

I agree with the Edguy-Dragonland thing, of being way overrated and getting undeserved higher scores than superior albums like Casting the stones. Other than that, I don't think the Jag Panzer score is low, 79 means the upper limit of very good here, and that's what this album is. I really like it. I hate the generic borfest of most power metal bands, but Jag Panzer is something else. Judging by this album alone, since this is the only one I've listened to. Gotta check out their back catalogue now.

Chris Broderick is such a monster player, and it really shows on this album, but I can't say I care for the style or songs much on this album. Overall, I find it a C- in my book.

like the style or not, it doesn't matter because there is nobody else that has their sound/style. But yes their style is more of an acquired taste

Good album. Not much more to say. Nothing great, but good. I'd say 70/100.
