This is a very good album that unfortunately suffers from one production issue. It's not a volume or muffled issue, but a vocal production issue. The layered vocals are not as smooth as they should be is all. It's not a deal breaker, but Rick Mythiasin was once one of the best singers in the world and whoever produced the vocals did not nail it. Rick deserves better vocal production. There's just no excuse for some of the awkward layering of vocals on this album. That being said; the album has grown on me and I would say 9 out of 13 songs are great songs. I understand the score, but if you have ever enjoyed Steel Prophet this is definitely worth checking out. It will get you singing along and there are some really cool moments on this album. Trickery of the Scourge, 666 is Everywhere, and The Tree of Life are my favorite songs so far, but there is some great stuff on here. I'm happy to hear Steel Prophet again.
