Sheavy - Republic?
Doom and stoner rock of mid 70s, or call it simply Sabbath worship

I might check these guys out.. of course I prefer traditional doom to stoner rock, but I prefer stoner rock to doom/death tripe.. My Dying Bride and Anathema kinda fucked up the flow of Doom for me so I'm happy to see clean vocals and riffs in doom again. Nice review.

You'd like Witchcraft, there's a review on this very site.

From what I've heard I thought Witchcraft sounded a lot MORE like Sabbath than these guys. sHeavy are clearly indebted, but Witchcraft sound almost identical...

Well, I like what I've heard of Witchcraft MORE than Sabbath (could never get into the Sabbs. Yes, I know). It just seems better in some strange way, and I think Witchcraft are as much 70's in general as Sabbath, you can hear Led Zep in there, and they seem more folky.

Heh... Perhaps you are right Z. They have a better singer, at least.

If you trust the ears of this reviewer - sHeavy is pure Black Sabbath worship, almost down to riffs, vocal mdulation, the singer sounding like Ozzy 30 years ago.
Witchcraft are their own band. They are inspired by the 70s metal, but they do not copy anybody, just immerse themselseves into the style, being folky, Led Zeppelin, Cathedral, Candlemass, Lake of Tears and Balck Sabbath all at the same time.
I'd rate Witchcraft much higher than sHeavy. Feel free to disagree.

I dunno... perhaps you're right. Witchcraft just seem to me to have more authentic Sabbathesque riffs. They sound a little more "rustic", if that makes any sense.
