A very good album overall. I agree with lizardtail (or can I call you Dee, if you don't mind? I just prefer calling people by their names rather than nicknames. That's the way I am) that although the album is long it doesn't bore you. And I love the way the bass sounds.

Hails for the descent review (many may have problems with it because of the song-by-song structure, but this is just the way doom is usually reviewed).

Goddamn! Dee likes to write, eh? Good review. I keep hearing great things about this band, but doom is so hit or miss with me. I'm not a fan of that slow-plodding doom in general, but there are some bands that make it work great. It's just finding those bands that is hard.

Nice review Dee ! Finally some good stuff reviewed. I have Harbinger Of Metal, it's alright though it has the most boring drum solo ever. I'll definately check this out.

More doom, less false metal please ! :)

1st three songs on this album are so good, especially Cromwell with just owns. Unfortunetly rest of the album bog standred droning slow doom. Witchcraft does this much better IMO.

Yeah I just listened to this on Friday for the first time (I had no idea one of my friends owned it) and I was like, almost hypnotised. I'm definitely going to at least steal this.

More Doom for me I thinks (although its true that I probably prefered the opening three cuts to the more ~trve D00m~ on the rest of the disc).

Not a big doom fan, but these guys are solid, and great fun.

For those that have heard both this and the first album: what do you prefer?

Looks like I'll just have to listen to this and break the tie. Quite liked their first album, so the bar is set fairly high.

Well I enjoyed hearing this one a lot! Not sure if I prefer it to #1 though.

Cromwell is an awesome track, loved the feel of 'The Council' as well. And some of these lyrics are just hilarious. From track 6:

I'll call you to come to my place.
I'll pour you a glass of wine.
I'll tell you that you are beautiful,
and then I know that you are mine.

Who knew Witchfinder was so practiced in the arts of seduction?
So surely this story ends in a charming tale of love right?

Fully prepared, I open the door.
Sweet is the smile embellishing your face.
You're waiting for me to caress you gently.
I spray your blood all over the place.
