Delain never really impresses me. They get lost in the shuffle of other female fronted metal bands that are better like Nightwish,Within Temptation and Epica.

And Charlotte's voice although decent doesn't grab me like ladies such as Floor Jensen or Sharon den Adel.

Solid band, solid album, but they're faceless in a sea of other faceless band. I do think Charlotte has her own distinct voice, but there's just nothing about the music that really stands out.

But I enjoy them.

I enjoy this album quite a bit, which is suprising because the female fronted genre as a whole tends to be a blur at this point. No comparison to Epica or Nightwish, totally different breed, but a strong album for those days when I want something a bit simpler and easy to digest.

The debut, with Marco contributing vocally to many songs, was much more unique in terms of the whole female-fronted metal thing.

I respect Delain for what they did in tribute for murdered woman, Sophie Lancaster back in 2007. The song "We Are The Others" as well as the entire album is dedicated to her memory.

I think the review is pretty fair. Definitely mediocre, although I do like the hook in Get the Devil Out of Me. Their first couple of albums were decent for what they were and some songs stuck. Nothing really grabbed me fully on this one.
