Interesting to see the opinions on this band.

I thought Thomas' score for their debut was too generous and I think your score for the follow-up is a little harsh (although I can't really disagree with much of what you said).

I'd give both albums about a 68-70.

That'd have been my score with a better singer.

Their first was very cool which gave me high hopes for this and it sucks. Boring music for boring people.

Goat Horn was way better, and Goat Horn wasn't even that good.

Fortress Doomed is their best song. In fact, it's the only song that's awesome. Everything else ranges from good to megh. Played with them several times and they were even kind enough to house us when Harbinger played in Canada. Not trying to slight them at all. Brandon Wars and Steel Rider the drummer were awesome dudes, but their style wasn't my favorite. Jason Decay's vocals were always better gruff, so him trying to sing doesn't really work.

But seriously, Fortress Doomed is an awesome song. The outro to the song is also seriously awesome. Reminiscent of old Nocturnal Rites.
