this new AD is almost a carbon copy of their 1rst album... only the surprise isn't there anymore and the songs are just a bit less effective... so it's a 65, good but far from a must-buy...

I couldn't agree more with the points made in the review for this album. I was lucky enough to find out about this band before their debut, and they have done nothing but impress me with their blend of old and new metal ideas on both CD's. Sure, they're not 100% original, but that has never been a factor at all to me - as long as the songs are enjoyable and are of good quality. I think that Wolf is a perfect example of that.... excellent band with killer songs, but not really original. A.D. deserve alot more (positive) press than they get. IMO, they're one of the most pure metal bands that still acknowledge and are not ashamed to display where their metal roots lie. Hail!

1st album might not have had great artwork, but it was much more clever than this one.

Thanks, I'm glad you like it. The original artwork had a nice looking chick on it, with a fireblade... but they removed her :). I like it ok like that considering the album title. The original work is like this

Since not many people like my portraits in the back (which I love and is kinda my signature since I was 16 y.o.), then I wouldn't be surprised if many people like it better without the chick. The thing is the image wasn't made for the album, it was purchased from my llibrary... its real name is Guardian Of The Ancient Tower. For sure the chick wouldn't go well with the title "Evil is Forever" anyway...

I surely liked this follow up from Astral Doors more than the debut. The debut wasn't bad either. To me Evil Is Forever made almost the same kind of feeling as I heard Accept's Restless And Wild in 1982. What kind of feeling? I was positively surprised when I heard this new Astral Doors cd.
Albeit it sounds "old", it still has some refreshing elements. If nothing else, at least the modern sound.

I really liked this the vocals reminded a lot of Dio, and the riffs were great good ole' fashioned heavy metal. I might buy this.
