I would agree with the score, but I need to listen to the entire album. The tracks that I heard are good, but not as good as the War Within. Glad that the Death vocals are back. They were used on The Art of Balance, Of One Blood, and Somber Eyes To the Sky. I hope the rest of the album sounds good.

I know, my mistake... I just was putting a score on what I have had heard. BUt now I have heard the entire album. I raise my score a few points to an 80. The album is great. It's better than retribution. I like the 80's feel to it. The production is richer sounding than the one on Retribution. The songwriting and trsnsitions from verse to chorus are better too. It's a different album, not what I was expecting.

This is the first Shadows Fall album I've liked since Of One Blood.

It sounds less contrived and a little bit meatier than others.

I just bought it earlier today. Seven songs in, I think it's great so far. Heavy, catchy. Works for me.

By the way, I bought the Best Buy version, which comes with a DVD and two bonus tracks. Just $9.99 right now.

I listened to it even more. I like it alot. This is the album that Shadows Fall should had done after The War Within. If War Within (scored 99 on this site) is their Puppets then Fire From the Sky is their Black album. So overall I give this album an 83.

Sidenote: the staff here really, really loved The War Within. Wow, I had preferred Art of Balance.
