This album kicks ass! It's better than most of the hair rock albums being put out by the 80's bands that are way past their hey day. For what it's worth these guys are great musicians and this genre alive and kicking! :dio:

Fuck this band. They have the same staying power as Weird Al. Funny for a minute, then tedious and annoying.

The worst part is, they're great musicians that could be putting out great, classy hard rock albums. Instead they're doing this childish bullshit that wasn't funny when I was in high school. It's just sad, in my opinion.

Pffft!

My opinion falls somewhere between you two. Like I said in the review, I love some of the songs and they are certainly strong musicians with talent, but at the same time it is just so damn juevinille and insulting (to women in particular, and given that I am married that is a factor). I really dont see myself listening to a 3rd album if it comes out, not if it will still be this same formula. Funny, but with a very short shelf life for me.

No different than what Motley Crue and Poison were doing in the 80's.

True, but then Im not a huge fan of them. Also, that I am aware of, they never took it as far (language, lyrical content) than what Panther does. But I suppose that is the point of Steel Panther anyways.

Yeah, the stuff in the 80s was tongue-in-cheek, more innuendo than anything else. This stuff is just raunchy.

And let's not forget, bands in the 80s didn't put out entire albums full of this stuff, just a song or two.

If you really really love me is the funniest thing I have ever heard. Why can't you trust me is hilarious also. Actually, at first I was not impressed with this album. I thought it less wity, but these guys require a closer listen to some tracks to catch some of the quirky witty parts. Like in "If you really really love me" when he says "I'm really really fond of you too" so funny!!! Then there is the easily noticeable stuff to like the "I musta got something from the toilet seat, you know I would never cheat" or " Don't whine when I put it in your booty, or when I'm up all night playing Call of Duty" or the references to other songs like "If I have sex with your friend Melanie, don't act like it's some kinda felony. It's not uncommon for this kind of infidelity. It happens to alot of guys like Tiger Woods and me." This album is comedy gold. It's like the Family Guy of 80's throwback bands or something. Don't listen to it around your girlfriend unless she's really cool and definitely don't let your kids hear it or you will be getting calls to meet with the principal on his behalf. This is a album you play when your partying and want a good laugh. The song writting is top quality. Some of the songs lyrics are pretty raunchy. Critter is probably the most vulgar, but it is the worst by far. Great production, great fun, comedy gold, witty stuff from the masters of 80's parody using current pop culture wit.

This band sucks.
If I want hair metal, there's plenty good ones to be found in the classic bands from the 80s with better songs and lyrics that don't indulge into silly debauchery.

Check out the new Riot "Immortal Soul". It's awesome!!! Speed Power Metal at it's best. What a voice!!! Great songwritting and the solos are some of the best I've ever heard. So diverse too. Many different feels on this album. Pretty much perfect!

Also new My Dying Bride EP "The Barghest O' Whitby" with a glass of wine and a fire. His heavy voice is just wretched and his clean voice is serene and haunting. The music is equal parts melody, melancholy, and heavy groove. Wish these guys were playing the States. Or wish I could go on the 70,000 tons of metal cruise.

I'm talking about while you're listening to it. Can you rock out to Weird Al all day long?

Does anyone rock out to Weird Al? I just listen to him for laughs. But yeah, it comes in small doses few and far between. Still, I like Wierd Al (especially older stuff).

I seriously doubt this is on "hipsters'" radars. Kind of getting pathetic how that word is a go-to when you want to insult some form of music even if it doesn't make sense in the context.

Still, the chicks you see at their gigs... epic.

So, I'm seeing them in Cologne next year.
