Good review, Huuto is also my fav song so far, but that may change over time. Like the two previous albums of Moonsorrow, this is a grower; after 5 spins my score is 90, and I'm sure this will be in my top ten of 2011 by the end of the year.

Moonsorrow is a monument in the pagan realm :dio:

Yes, this is truly a great album. Already a highlight of this year. It's definitely one of their darker albums and I like the more doomy approach they've taken here. Huuto is probably one of the best songs they've ever made. I do agree that more choirs probably would've made this more awesome. Also I would like to add that those interludes, although fitting the concept, are probably half a minute too long. But overall this is an incredible album. Moonsorrow is just incapable of being mediocre.

Agreed, nevertheless I agree with the score and review.

Nice review, though I expect this album to settle in the 92-93 range. Huuto is an excellent track, but second to the final track for me.

Listened to it twice now and am liking what i hear. No favorite songs yet but no weak ones either thou the interludes are not my cup of tea. Solid stuff. :dio:

Never quite managed to get into this band, but judging from their sampler on myspace, this album sounds rather great. Am I completely out of the field if it reminds me of Sagas by Equilibrium?

Not entirely wrong, there are some definite similarities. Moonsorrow are darker and slower than them though. Especially in their last few albums. And more epic. Far, far more epic.

Different, and yet again brilliance from the masters.

Great, great, great album. Best thing of 2011 together with 'The Great Mass' of Septicflesh

Have been listening to this solid for about a week now... Its mood is awesome and dark... I got stuck in the post apocalyptic genre of literature about a year ago , and this album seems like such a great compliment to those ideas.. Could have fit in as the soundtrack to the movie the road... Even though I think nick cave did a great job on that.....

Funny, I thought it could be a soundtrack too, but to Valhalla Rising.
