This is just as good as Tentacles Of Whorror, imo. Both albums make up some of the most genuinely chilling music I've ever heard.

You haven't heard a lot of black metal, have you?

At the end of the day its a solid piece of USBM, not particularly weak in any fashion just not something that is all that "haunting" as purported. It's a good introduction to superior bands and there isn't much else to say about it.

Assumptions, assumptions, dear boy. I've heard a fair deal of Black Metal. This may not do much for you, but it does a lot for me, and I love it.

Uh huh, superior bands like Velvet Cacoon?

I say this is the best non-Xasthur USBM album.

Thanks for the review, Zad. I remember grabbing the title track off of Audiognome way back in 03 and thinking the main riff was incredible.

It really isn't as cracked up as you'd think after a second spin, what extended Mayhem riffs with occasional 'doom' sections added to change things up? I can give you ten USBM bands better than Leviathan.

I'm steve and I don't understand that the preference of certain bands over other similar bands is kinda subjective.

Good review! And Leviathan is a very good band. I don't understand why we need to compare black metal bands among black metal bands...at the end of the day, it's pointless.

I prefer Xasthur over Leviathan and Krieg is pretty amazing. So what? USBM scene is pretty healthy if you ask me.

It's pretty good. I feel these guys get a bit more props than they probably should, though. Decent stuff.
