Periphery is very "meh," imo.

I would check out Cloudkicker instead, if you haven't already. Tesseract and Cloudkicker are probably the only good things to come out of this whole "djent" thing.

Pretty much this. I was gonna touch on the comparisons between Periphery and Tesseract a bit more in the review but thought it'd detract from the EP itself. Keith Merrow is worth checking out as well though.

My brother got Periphery as a christmas gift actually. He was quite surprised to hear a guy singing since the songs he had on his ipod were completely instrumental. After hearing the album we both concluded that no singing would have been better.
