Sorry guys. Had no idea this week would see a few other non-metal reviews. I did not find out Don Van Vliet died until after I posted the review.

Unless I missed something, we still have yet to see any clear explanation as to what reasonable, relatively direct connection (not a generic and ambiguous "roots of all rock and roll") Little Richard has to metal.

I'm still leaning toward "unbridled staff indulgence."

>Bruce Springsteen reviews by now, all with mathematically impossible scores

As far as I know, 0 is mathematically possible.

On the review list mentioned earlier, is it all stuff you've already heard and just want validation for your musical taste? Or are you legitimately curious about something, but don't want to spend your own money on it, therefore asking people to buy something and review it for you?

Just curious.

Anyway, I think this review adds spice to the otherwise fairly monotonous 'black melodeath' that seems to dominate this site.

Yeah, perhaps I went too far. Fact is though, many of you will turn into our dearly departed Misha.

How does one define 'black melodeath'?

I don't really like metal much anymore it's too angry and dramatic.

Actually I still listen to lots of angry and dramatic music.

Novel idea for a thread though, while I'm just 21 I can honestly see myself listening to this music well into my latter years. I'm fairly sure most of the other forumites may as well, though this is somewhat of a blanket sentiment, one does not listen to this music for mere fashionable appeal or with a hipster's behest, maybe deathcore and lesser styles of it but not the entirety of the music.

I went onto the bus without my iPod once and every fucking stop and every fucking person who slowed things down by even a second annoyed me so I don't think I'll stop listening to music any time soon.

Also not enough lyrics about girls. Or enough emphasis on the little things that make a song catchy and the music sound good.

basically it's not this

Not trolling. emperor's post about people who consider metal a phase made me think a lot about why I don't listen to metal anymore and what the difference between death metal (which I never listen to anymore) and bands like Gospel or La Dispute or Trophy Scars who also play aggressive music with screaming but that I still love.

Feel free to go snuggle up with your Little Richard Time Life Collection then and we'll keep rocking to " black melodeath ".

However, I think something larger is going on on the site here: as the majority of the forum users are now passing through that age known as 'the formative years', they are emerging out of their early 20s and realizing that they were never really into metal. Just a phase, of sorts, or at most, a tiny piece of their music taste. That's fine, and fairly normal. Those who remain often end up like Cry of the Banshee, or me, and I'm not sure how many of you would want that.

Oh my how elitist of you.

Seriously. No more stupid reviews like this, please. I don't think we're asking for much as people who frequent your site.

Was waiting for your response!

But now I am just too busy wracking my brain on what 'black melodeath' is. Dissection?
