Solid album. I don't know if I'd say it's their heaviest. PEM always kinda struck me as that.

This band is one of my guilty pleasures. Death Cult Armageddon remains my favourite but this is a very solid album nonetheless.

Kinda surprised no mention was made about the production. Whenever people talk about this album, the production almost always comes up, most of the time as a complaint. I can kinda see why people would have a problem with it, and in some ways I do too, but it's like being awash in a sea of synthesizers, and for this type of album, it fits really well.

Don't take that as a knock against the review, though, the review is excellent. :dio:

My least favourite Dimmu Borgir.

Too many good melodies... too many Keyboards... it's more like Addams Family than "Black Metal".

Too much of something good is a bad thing? I feel like that's correct in most situations but that just sounded dumb.

Can't be brought down if you haven't had a decent upbringing.

This album kinda came out when it seemed like everyone was sounding like this album. I don't really care for it as a Dimmu fan and I really never go back to it. Honestly it's been a long time since I've given it a proper spin, I never thought much of the album.

Just being facetious. Husker likes dimmu because it's pretty bm.

I like all kinds of black metal. In fact I was just writing on facebook yesterday on how Transilvanian Hunger has the best production of any album, ever.

I wasn't as into dimmu other than stormblast and a few other songs off of various albums and thought that they were somewhat lackluster until I saw them live, now I really like them. They're a great live band and I really enjoyed seeing them.
