Except for Keep it in the Family and the Joe Jackson cover, I think this album is the poorest of the Belladonna-Era Anthrax. 65/100 for me.

???

it may not be the best they did, but far from the worst.

it's the heaviest and darkest of Belladonnas stuff, and I really dig it.

good review, and good choice

I must admit that I find Belladonna's better suited for lighter/funnier material...

I like two songs on it, I cannot say it's a great album.

Sums my thoughts up but add Blood to the solid tracks.

if I said that I didn't like this album, would you say it's actually pretty good?

'Bout time this masterpiece finally got its due here.

This is easilly my favorite Belladonna album. The songs DO hint a little at the slower, more groove-oriented style they'd adapt during the Bush years (and Gridlock hints at the more punk-like direction they'd take on songs like Sodium Pentathol and Burst). But, being a fan of Bush-era Anthrax, that definitely isn't a bad thing for me.

Favorite Songs? Time, Keep It In The Family, Belly Of The Beast, Got The Time (probably my favorite - which is surprising since it's a cover), H8 Red (I like how, in this song, Anthrax delivers a good message without being too preachy or moralistic), and Discharge.

P.S. Zad, no offense buddy, but you may want to consider rephrasing this:

Quote:
By the time you’re up to the third track, the excellent Keep It In The Family, it’s hard not to think that Anthrax haven’t made their best work here,

the album has grown a lot on me, though I can't say I'd listen to it too much, great review

I've never been a huge Anthrax fan, but this is my favorite album of theirs- Time, Gridlock, Blood, H8 Red are all great songs, and the Got the Time cover is very well done. Intro to Reality/Belly of the Beast is of course fantastic- probably my favourite Anthrax song. A few weaker tracks, though- never liked Keep it in the Family all that much. All in all a very solid album- 85/100.

That's probably why.
