Don't get me wrong, I still dig Dream Theater's newer albums, but they're not very consistent IMO.

Just listened to this...

I like the overall sound. I can't help but think (Ensiferum fanboyism alert) that it would sound better with more raspy vocals a la Jari Maenpaa, but whatever, it wouldn't quite be "power", I guess. Sometimes it seems as if the songs don't have enough dynamics... oftentimes the song starts up and keeps the same overall "sound" for the whole song, no changes, and that gets a little boring.

I love the guitar leads, though. I've always been a sucker for that type of sound and playing.
