Dude, Traced In Air wasn't better than Focus. You crazy! A very good album, but Focus is in a league of its own.

Can't wait to hear this and nice review, although it bugs me when a band that's less known than the band being reviewed gets mentioned in a review (kkoagula or w/e).

Also Traced in Air > Focus

I would take Traced in Air any day of the week over Focus. HOnestly, I think more and more people will start to agree with me in time, although it could of course be just me and noodles forever.

Noodles- kkoagulaa is Manes under a new name. But yeah, it's a geeky reference. It's appropriate though if you listen to their album.

Heh, kind of a weird ex-black metal band who went in an electronica direction, very comparable to Ulver.

I like Focus better than TIA. The songs are more memorable, and there's more ambience IMO.

I guess it's probably safe to say that Cynic is no longer tagged with the "death metal" label.

Agreed.

I think Traced in Air is getting too much praise.

:dio: At the 2001 space odyssey reference, such an awesome movie. Did you just watch that recently or something? I'm pretty excited to check this out because TIA has grown on me a lot, though I still dig focus more.

I'll second TiA. Its become one of my favorites of recent years. Focus is good too though.

Focus is the best album of all the 90's, Traced in Air is the best of all the 00's. Both are incredible and masterpieces. No way are overrated.
I need to listen to this one.

Best album of the last 10 years? Fuck no! It's good but way too overrated.

TIA shouldn't be near any 'best of' list, except perhaps best horrible vocals.

TiA's growls are a little unfortunate but I like the computer voice on it while computer vox on Focus give me a headache.

Yeah the computer vocals on TIA work much better than the ones on Focus IMO.

You have a point. And I think I've begun to sound like a broken record. Sorry guys. Cynic is a good band, we just differ on degree.

That's your opinion. I just give mine.
