I'm listening to the samples on the bands myspace page right now and holy shit my ears are loving it!:dio: This album just made it to the top of my "albums I need to buy" list!

actually, judging from the stuff on their myspace it's pretty good (http://www.myspace.com/skeletonwitch). probably the best band you got your panties in a twist over, and head-and-shoulders above Ajdath and the like :P

so, yeah, check it out. fast paced thrash/heavy metal with just a bit of black metal.

Incredibly awesome album with an honest review but a little bit high of a rating. I highly recommend this to at least check it out. It's not tremendously technical or progressive but it is a straightforward awesome genre spanning metal that its hard not to like. I recommend to everyone to give it an honest objective listen.

This band is paint-by-numbers death thrash with metalcore frosting. Decent, but no masterpiece. Surely not hard to label, either.

Not mad. Never said it was hard to label either. The album simply has melodeath and blackened thrash interlaced throughout it. I never noticed any metalcore but either way it obviously spans genres since you mentioned death, thrash and metalcore.

I really liked the two songs on the MySpace page--it's on the wishlist. I don't know if it's gonna be a 96 for me, but it definitely sounds killer.

I can kind of see where Ken's coming from, though...there are a lot of bands that do thrash with death vocals like these guys are doing. Iron Maiden melodies and solos add something different, though, and the music is killer even if it's not the most original thing ever. I don't really see a lot of black metal at all, though...

I just checked out their myspace page....You guys were right in how difficult it is to fit their music into a certain genre. "Limb from Limb" is definitely a killer track ("Upon Wings of Black" was good but not great). Nevertheless im checking this album out!

Deserving of the score IMO. If you like neck bobbing thrashy riffs coming at you left and right interspersed with melodic guitar harmonies, you'll like this. Musicianship is top notch.
