Awesome dude! I was waiting like forever and a day to see this baby reviewed. I fucking love this album, at first I was unsure cause it is quite different from their past albums(which I also love) and the pace and atmosphere are key elements at play here. But like the best things in life this album just grabbed hold of me and wouldn't let go, I'd have some lead, riffs or solo stuck in my head for hours on end, and I knew I had to listen to the cd again.Over time I began to realize the sheer majesty of this beast, and it will definitely make my year end list.
Great review man, I appreaciate the mention of my favorite song 216's solo. That soft break is just so odd and cool then how the solo screams in again is superb. These guys are very talented, able to write technical yet coherent songs that still sport that death metal atmosphere. They do one of my favorite things in death metal, the more complex patterns the drums and rythem guitars weave in and out of while the lead or solo guitar bobs around and back again. Just because someone is playing a ripping solo doesn't mean the others have to stop or be relegated to simplicity. Thanks for reviewing this one!
