Ruins are indeed an awesome band. They have a pretty different take on black metal, but it is one that is very good :dio:

Great album! Much better than their debut.

Btw it was released in 2008.

Yes much much better! They do a good live show too. when I saw them the bass was really heavy in the mix, made it feel incredibly doomy.

In Australia it was released in 2008, this is the 'official' worldwide release.

This is a really enjoyable album, thanks for the heads up with the review. I would have never found this otherwise.

Seen how many Leviathans there are? It's not a miracle that two bands have the same name.... and saying one is better than the other based on name and not any relevant criteria such as the genre of the music they are in is ridiculous.

Plus one. People are far too quick to ridicule a band by comparing it to something with the faintest, silliest similarity.

Still not over the Gathering/Lacuna Coil thread I see.

I still think you can very well compare Mozart to Napalm Death or Britney Spears to Ornette Coleman because it's all music.

Yes I can, that's my opinion based on my taste. I don't claim it to be anything else...

But the point of each band is totally different? The emotions intended to be expressed by each are opposite, so why compare them?

by your logic, I can compare Clive Cussler to William Faulkner and say Cussler is a better author because it's my opinion based on my taste.

interesting-sounding band, perhaps I shall check this album out.

Any of you Aussies checked Ruins' new album yet, Front The Final Foes? It was out in June over there, Debemur Morti will be giving it a worldwide release in a few months. Looking forwards!
